Diverge

Amy

Restless rebel,

Waif of the lonely worldꟷ

That was me.

Back when the stars were dim

And the rainbow warped with dull gray curse

Before I learned to soar

Beyond the dust

To the turquoise rim of the universe.

And I hung my dreams

On a newborn Star

Like so many dreamers past.

Then flung my hopes in a gleaming swath,

And nestled in the dents

Of the Creator’s touch

In the fibers of galaxy cloth.
